Buttercup Skincare Cosmetics

Shining the Spotlight on Buttercup Skincare Cosmetics.

At The Parent Diary, we are committed to sourcing and curating the best in eco-friendly products for you and your family. We find brands that share our philosophy and closely match our Eco-Quality features, and help grow their business. One way that we do this is by shining the spotlight on our sellers through our blog, and today we are interviewing Pamela Mundell, the Founder of Buttercup Skincare Cosmetics to tell us what inspired her to start Buttercup Skincare Cosmetics.

Tell us your story and how and why you started your business.

When I was 12 years old, I became fascinated with skin - how it feels, moves, creases and how cellulite accumulates. I also love skincare products and knew I eventually wanted to become a cosmetic scientist. I worked in a cosmetic lab and started formulating products and realized how much synthetic ingredients that are not good for you goes into the everyday products we put onto our skin. I believe that active ingredients should not be synthesized but the whole plants should be use so that our skin can benefit from these wonderful herbs or the whole plant. Therefore I decided to create my own skincare products made from whole herbs and organic or natural raw materials
What inspired you to create your product and where do you draw inspiration from?
I have tried all anti-cellulite creams, lotions, oils, etc. and none of these works or improved the appearance of my skin. I created my own anti-cellulite cream with all the ingredients I know that worked for cellulite in one specific product. I started to massage the product onto my legs twice a day and noticed a difference. I want to share my success story with other people who also suffer from those awful dimples as much as I do.

Do you use ethical and sustainable materials you use for your products?

I obtain all of my waxes and oils from and organic supplier that is USDA certified and sustainable. I obtain all of my herbs, essential oils and hydrosols from a supplier that is organic, sustainable, zero waste, and fair trade. Specialty ingredients and extracts are obtained from a supplier that is USDA certified. I use glass packaging as much as possible as it's recyclable.

What would you say is your greatest strength?

My greatest strength during this time is to stay resilient and adjust to the changes, by staying home. Remaining home I am able to stay focus on my passion by creating more wonderful natural products for Buttercup Skincare Cosmetics. It is still important to stay in balance and take some time to slow down by going out in nature, meditate or take some time to connect with friends and families. Or take some time for yourself to reconnect with your own inner beauty.
